Postman monitor

In the previous labs, we learned how to write multiple tests and check their results. When you have a collection with multiple requests and tests, it becomes tedious to run and check each test manually. In this lab, we will see how we can automate this step using Postman monitors.

Postman monitors allow you to run requests at regular intervals. It is a Pro feature but you can use it with your free account for up to 1000 API calls per month. Let's add a monitor for our Twilio collection.

  1. Click on the three dots next to Twilio collection. Select Monitor collection.
  2. Name it TwilioMonitor. Schedule the monitor to run every one hour. Under Run monitor, select Hour timer, then Every hour.

  3. Click on Create monitor.
  4. The TwilioMonitor tab opens, where you can click Run to launch monitoring.
  5. In the monitor dashboard, you can see the status of your Twilio collection requests that should be sent every 1hour as configured. You will also receive email notifications every 1hour in case you added your email during monitor creation.
