FSN OCCIWARE

  • Type: French Collaborative project
  • Duration: December 2015 - December 2017
  • Description: The OCCIware project aims at proposing a formal model-driven approach for managing Everything as a Service with the Open Cloud Computing Interface (OGF OCCI). OCCIware will be composed of three pillars: 1) a formal specification of OCCI with Alloy, 2) an Eclipse model-driven tool chain, and 3) a Models@run.time support called erocci.

S3P (Semantic service supervision process: From Design to Execution)

  • Type: Industrial Project with Orange France
  • Duration: September 2012 - present
  • Description: The scope of this project is to set up advanced workflows management for the filed of service supervision within the telecommunication management. In Orange, current management workflows, if they exist, are statics. The goal is to make use of the latest results in workflows management and business process management fields to define dynamic, semantic-based, and adaptive processes for service supervision. In fact, current management applications within the OSS/BSS are manually integrated; there are no defined workflows to orchestrate them to fulfill a customer complaint for example. Business processes for Telco's are already standardized in the cartography eTOM, and all the manipulated data within these processes are identified within a generic information model named the information framework (a.k.a. SID).

Greent IT (emundusGreenIT for the benefit of Civil Society)

  • Type: European mobility plan for Erasmus Mundus
  • Duration: October 2012 - October 2015
  • Description: emundusGreenIT is a mobility plan for Erasmus Mundus Action 2 Strand 1 partnership, with the aim of deploying the horizontal principles of the European Union for economic & social development in Arab Countries through the cooperation in higher education, research & innovation and around the thematic area "Greent IT for the benefit of Civil Society". The proposal promotes 10 European Universities as centres of excellence in learning & research around Green IT and drives this excellence to North Africa countries (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt) in order to contribute to their better governance & social cohesion but also to connect Arab countries to the global economy.

PAIRSE (Privacy Preserving Data Sharing in P2P Environment: A Web Service-based Approach)

  • Type: National project (ANR)
  • Duration: November 2009 - October 2012
  • Description: PAIRSE address the challenges of heterogeneity and efficient query-processing for the need of data sharing in P2P environments, by advancing a web service-based approach and by taking into account the data privacy dimension. In this proposal, the access to the data sources is performed by a new class of web services called: Data-Providing Web servise (DP) which are different from the traditional web services named Effect Providing Web services (EP), in that their invocation only returns data but does not have effects that may change the surrounding environment. Assuming that autonomous information systems expose their data in the form of DP services and specify a set of privacy policies to protect sensitive and confidential data, and given a user query expressed in SPARQL query language over an RDFS ontology, this project will focus on how Web services could be discovered, selected and composed to efficiently cover the user query.

CompatibleOne (the first real Open Cloud Broker)

  • Type: French national project (Pole System@tic)
  • Duration: November 2010 - October 2012
  • Description: CompatibleOne aims at providing an open, interoperable, evolutive and standard "cloudware" allowing to create, deploy and manage private, public or hybrid cloud platforms. CompatibleOne offers a simple and unique interface allowing for the description of user cloud computing needs, in terms of resources, and their subsequent provisioning on the most appropriate cloud provider. Resource descriptions may cover the complete cloud computing paradigm ranging from complete applications (SaaS), through development platforms (PaaS) down to low level compute and storage defined infrastructure (IaaS). CompatibleOne provides a unique language for the description and management of an unlimited number of cloud service providers.

SUPER (Semantics Utilised for Process Management within and between Enterprises)

  • Type: : Integrated project-Contract: IST 026850 “Semantics Utilised for Process management within and between enterprises
  • Duration: 2006 - 2009
  • Description: Business Process Management focuses on managing the execution of IT-supported business operations from a business expert's process view rather than from a technical perspective. The underlying motivation for BPM is that organizations need to continuously align their running business processes, as executed within multiple heterogeneous systems, with the required processes as derived from business needs. BPM has gained significant attention in both research and industry, and a range of BPM tools are available. However, the degree of mechanization in BPM is currently very limited. The major obstacle preventing a coherent view on business processes is that the business processes are not accessible to machine reasoning. Additionally, businesses cannot query their process space by logical expressions, e.g. in order to identify activities relevant to comply with regulations. Founded on ontologies Semantic Web technology provides scalable methods and tools for the machine-readable representation of knowledge. Semantic Web Services (SWS) make use of Semantic Web technology to support the automated discovery, substitution, composition, and execution of software components (Web Services). BPM is a natural application for Semantic Web and SWS technology, because the latter provide large-scale, standardized knowledge representation techniques for executable artefacts. the project's proposal is to combine SWS and BPM, and develop one consolidated technology. Specifically, it creates horizontal ontologies which describe business processes; vertical telecommunications oriented ontologies to support domain specific annotation for our chosen economic sector; and a suite of tools based on the results of the SEKT and DIP IPs.

EastWeb (Building an integrated leading Euro-Asian higher education and research community in the field of the Semantic WEB)

  • Type: :European Coordination Action TH/Asia Link/010 (111084);
  • Duration: January 2006 - February 2007
  • Description: The goal of this project is to build an integrated leading Euro-Asian high education and research community in the field of the Semantic Web, the next generation of the Web. Direct target groups are: graduate students, faculty staff and enterprises management personnel. Indirect target groups are: European and Asian students, researchers and enterprises personnel at large.

INTEROP (Interoperability Research for Networked Enterprise Applications and Software)

  • Type: : Network of Excellence-Contract IST-508011 “Interoperability Research for Networked Enterprises Applications and Software
  • Duration: 2003 - 2006
  • Description: INTEROP aims to create the conditions of an innovative and competitive research in the domain of Interoperability for Enterprise Applications and Software. The integration will be achieved by the end of the 3-year project duration. Meanwhile, INTEROP spreading of excellence activities should ensure the fertilisation of the largest research community as well as IT providers and users, to provide a durable Virtual Lab on Interoperability beyond the EU-funded period. The objective of the INTEROP Portal is to increase awareness on Interoperability, to keep you informed on the research results developed within the consortium but also to share experiences on collective methods of work. It has has been designed to provide a single point of access to all relevant information and applications, functioning as an access to this interoperability communities of interest and practice.
